Seminar and Conferencing I.T. Facilities
  • The P.O.B. contains seventeen rooms with state-of-the-art presentation, conferencing and webcasting technologies.  These facilities serve not only the building occupants but also provide a University resource for meetings, seminars, workshops, conferences as well as special events.  With seating capacities ranging from 16 up to 196, the integrated technology (I.T.) within each of these rooms contain a standard set of media sources connected to a large video display and audio system that is operated using a standardized "user-friendly" remote-control system.  In addition, five of these rooms include automated camera and microphone systems that provide access to a complete range of videoconferencing technologies as well as webcasting capabilities for live events or event archival.
  • These facilities are available to any University affiliated entities provided that they require access to P.O.B. integrated technologies during their meeting, seminar, lecture, presentation or conference.  Note that they are NOT available for class meetings, review sessions, extended office hours or student organizations. Because these facilities are not classrooms, they are not scheduled through the University's Registrar's Office.   To reserve, verify or view the schedule for any P.O.B.   • SPECIAL NOTE -- "USER-OPERATED" TECHNOLOGY
    By design, the remote-control is located nearest to the speaker so that they are responsible for operation and control the technology during their presentation.  Therefore, it is the responsibility of the sponsoring entity to ensure that the speaker has been properly orientated on the remote-control operation and informed of the available resources within the facility.  Since the remote-control interface is "user-friendly" and common in appearance between all rooms, regardless if using a touch panel (e.g. ATM machine) or web browser (e.g. Internet Explorer), there is no reorientation necessary to operate the technology between any given room.
